The Cheppy application is an interactive English learning platform developed by the Cheppy Development Team to contribute to enhancing foreign language proficiency and promoting digital transformation in education through the application of Artificial Intelligence technology. This Privacy Policy (the β€œPolicy”) is an integral part of the Terms and Conditions of Service for users of the Cheppy application.

This Policy is developed in compliance with current Vietnamese laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Law on Cyberinformation Security and the Law on Personal Data Protection.

1. Collection of Personal Information​

1.1 Types of Information Collected​

  • Information related to the User's account.
  • Contact information, including email addresses and phone numbers provided by the User.
  • Information from the User's device, including IP address, MAC address, device name and configuration (model, type, operating system, and other technical attributes), as well as other forms of data stored on the User's device related to the use of Cheppy.
  • Other information that may be provided by, or collected from, the User in connection with the User's use of Cheppy.
  • Other types of information related to the User's activities on Cheppy: Cookies, Server Logs.

1.2 Purposes of Data Collection​

The data requested and collected from the User may be used by us for any of the following purposes:

  • Assisting in registration, account authentication, and granting access to learning features;
  • Recording the learner's academic results, progress, and engagement levels to optimize content and personalize learning paths;
  • Analyzing pronunciation data and responses during speaking practice activities to improve the accuracy of the assessment system;
  • Sending notifications regarding study schedules, new content updates, or changes related to the use of our services;
  • Providing technical support, receiving, and processing requests, feedback, or complaints from users or their legal guardians;
  • Conducting statistics, assessments, and research on usage effectiveness to enhance learning content and operational quality;
  • Storing and backing up learning data to ensure recoverability and the continuous operation of the system;
  • Detecting, preventing, and addressing fraudulent activities, impersonation, or unauthorized access that may affect the User's account;
  • Resolving conflicts of interest or investigating complaints related to the User's account.

2. Privacy Protection​

The User's personal data will be stored and secured by the Cheppy Development Team and used solely for the purpose of developing the User's foreign language proficiency.

We understand that users under the age of 13 require special privacy protections. Therefore, Cheppy's services are designed to ensure that the collection and processing of personal data for this user group are always controlled and transparent. When creating an account for users under 13, we may request information such as a display name to distinguish profiles and a birth year to tailor content appropriately for their age.

We strictly do not use data for unauthorized commercial purposes, do not share it with third parties without the explicit consent of the User or their legal guardian, and do not infringe upon privacy rights under Vietnamese law, except in the following cases:

(i) When parents or guardians proactively share content from the application via secure links;

(ii) Upon request from competent authorities in accordance with the Law.

3. Access Rights and Permissions​

By using the Application, the User agrees to grant the application access to the following functions:

  • Internet Connection: To ensure data synchronization, access to learning content, and information updates from the server.
  • Microphone Access: To capture voice recording during interactive learning activities within the Service.
  • Notifications: To send and display notifications on the device for new content updates, study reminders, and class announcements. Users can customize or disable notifications through the Service settings.
  • Camera Access: To support essential features related to user interaction, identity verification, or learning profile personalization.
  • Device Location: To provide content, features, or support suitable for the geographic region, contributing to an enhanced and personalized service experience.
  • Device Storage (Read/Write): To support the storage of academic results, images, and documents related to learning activities, or content uploaded/downloaded by the user.
  • System Activity Data Collection: Including service usage logs, application errors, and in-platform interactions, to serve improvements, bug fixes, and product quality enhancements.

4. Changes and Updates​

We reserve the right to change, modify, or supplement the Privacy Policy at our sole discretion and at any time by posting the changed, modified, or supplemented Privacy Policy on or through the Cheppy.ai Website, the Cheppy application, or via other means. The User's continued use of Cheppy following the posting of any changes, modifications, or supplements to the Privacy Policy will constitute the User's acceptance of such changes, modifications, or supplements. If the User does not agree with any changes, modifications, or supplements to the Privacy Policy, please do not use the Cheppy application.

5. User's Rights and Responsibilities​

  1. Comply with regulations on ensuring information safety and security. The User ensures that all inputted information is accurate and highly authentic.
  2. The User may view and update certain information regarding their account. In the event the User is unable to access or update their information independently, the User can always contact us for support. However, before granting access or providing information to the User, we may require the User to verify their identity and provide full details regarding their interactions with us, in accordance with our data privacy policy.
  3. The User may request us to cease using or sending information for promotional purposes at any time; please unsubscribe or adjust your preferences following the specific instructions provided on our website and application at the respective time.

We are constantly upgrading and improving our security systems to minimize risks, contributing to the maximum protection of the User's personal data throughout their use of Cheppy. Should there be any questions or requests regarding their data, the User will be notified and supported by the development team.
